Most aircraft pages rely on charter broker descriptions. Textron Aviation issued its own certification announcement for the XLS Gen2. This gives genuinely verified detail most competitor jets do not have.

Textron names specific new features: a lighted airstair door, a ground-weather entry curtain, and a redesigned pedestal seat. An optional fold-down forward couch opens up in-flight baggage access. Wireless cabin management, wireless phone charging, and USB ports round out the cabin.

Textron's senior vice president of sales and flight operations, Lannie O'Bannion, described the Gen2 as retaining the 560XL's efficiency. He cited comfort and productivity upgrades customers had specifically requested.

The Citation Excel established the formula in 1998. The XLS and XLS+ refined it over the following decades. Both share much of the same avionics and cabin generation.

The Gen2 replaces that avionics generation entirely with the clean-sheet Garmin G5000 flight deck. Cabin materials, lighting, and acoustics were also refreshed. The core airframe, engines, and mission profile carried over unchanged.
