Two engineering achievements gave the Falcon 7X a distinctive place in business aviation.

First, the Falcon 7X features a digital fly-by-wire flight control system. The Falcon 8X is the direct successor of the 7X. Dassault announced the 8X in December 2014. It stretched the 7X fuselage by 1.1 meters (3.6 feet), added the PW307D engines, and upgraded to EASy III avionics.
