On 13 December 2017, Dassault ended the Silvercrest program and launched the 6X the same day. The 6X used Pratt & Whitney Canada PW812D engines and offered 5,500 nm of range.

The Falcon 6X was designed to compete with the Bombardier Global 7500 and Gulfstream G650ER. It received FAA and EASA type certificates simultaneously in August 2023. The first U.S. Part 91 delivery took place in late 2024.

The Falcon 6X entered service on 30 November 2023 after more than 4,900 hours of engine testing and an extensive flight test program. The aircraft is currently in production at Bordeaux-Merignac, France.

The Falcon 6X is directly descended from the Falcon 5X program. In October 2013, Dassault unveiled the Falcon 5X with Snecma Silvercrest engines at NBAA. The Silvercrest engines encountered persistent technical problems. Years of delays followed, and the aircraft could not meet its performance targets.

By late 2017, after high-pressure compressor failures were discovered at high altitudes, Dassault ended the Silvercrest development. On 13 December 2017, the company simultaneously abandoned the 5X and launched the 6X as a successor. Safran paid Dassault $280 million in compensatory damages.

The Falcon 6X preserves the Falcon 5X fuselage cross-section and aerodynamics. The 5X wing and digital flight control system carry forward, while the PW812D engines replaced the Silvercrest engines. The 6X has a 5,500-nm published range.

The Falcon 6X rolled out at Bordeaux-Merignac on 8 December 2020. Its first flight took place on 10 March 2021. FAA and EASA type certificates were issued simultaneously in August 2023, and the aircraft entered service on 30 November 2023.

The Pratt & Whitney Canada PW812D is the defining technical advance of the Falcon 6X. It belongs to the PurePower PW800 geared turbofan family, which also powers the Gulfstream G500 and G600.

Per Pratt & Whitney Canada, the PW812D produces 13,500 lbf of thrust. The geared turbofan architecture decouples the fan from the low-pressure turbine, allowing each component to run at its optimal speed. The result is double-digit improvements in fuel burn, noise, and emissions compared to the prior engine generation in this class.

The PW812D engine features the TALON X combustor. The engine fan diameter is 110 cm. Both engines are compatible with Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

The Falcon 6X carries the EASy IV Flight Deck, the latest iteration of its integrated avionics suite. Earlier Falcon aircraft that can be brokered by Hogani Jets use EASy, EASy II, and EASy III variants.

EASy IV is built on the Honeywell Primus Epic platform. The Digital Flight Control System (DFCS) provides three-axis digital flight control and incorporates advanced flight envelope protection. Nosewheel steering is integrated into the DFCS for precise runway tracking.

The Falcon 6X seats up to 16 passengers across three cabin zones. The cabin is 40 feet 4 inches long, 102 inches wide, and 78 inches tall.
