A private jet to Vancouver costs $1,300 to $2,500 per hour by turboprop. Light jet charters cost $2,300 to $3,800 an hour, and midsize jets $2,800 to $5,500. Most charters land at Vancouver International (YVR) with an 11,500 ft runway, about 25 minutes from downtown, with customs around the clock. Small groups can use Boundary Bay (6,005 ft) instead, with customs for up to 15 people. July and August bring the driest flying weather. Hogani Jets coordinates every charter through licensed Part 135 operators or carriers approved by the applicable aviation authority.

Vancouver sits on the Burrard Peninsula between Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River, facing the Strait of Georgia. It is Canada's third-largest metro area, with about 2.6 million people. The city hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics with Whistler, 125 km to the north.

Rates shown are hourly charter rates by aircraft category. Your quote shows one all-in price, including taxes, permits, and handling.

Vancouver is the Pacific gateway for western Canada, linking Asia, the US West Coast and the mountains. A charter adds choice: the big international airport, a quieter general aviation field, or a helicopter on to Whistler. Business, cruise and ski trips can all start within minutes of landing.

  • Two gateways: YVR for any jet and any group, Boundary Bay for smaller aircraft.
  • Fast onward links: helicopters and floatplanes connect to Whistler, Victoria and coastal lodges.
  • Customs at the aircraft: CBSA clears private arrivals without the airline hall.

Should a private jet land at YVR or Boundary Bay?

Use Vancouver International (YVR) for larger jets, groups over 15 or late-night arrivals, since customs runs 24/7. Use Boundary Bay for turboprops and light jets carrying 15 people or fewer, crew included. Its customs desk works from 7 am to 10 pm.

Private flights park on the general aviation side of Sea Island, away from the main terminal. CBSA officers clear passengers at the aircraft or in the private terminal. The operator selects the handler, and Hogani Jets confirms it in your trip details.

Matt's Recommendation

For a small group from Seattle, Boundary Bay is often the easier call. Customs works for up to 15 people, crew included. Anything larger, or anything landing late, goes to YVR.

Where the handler allows, your car meets you at the aircraft on the private side of YVR. Downtown hotels are about 25 minutes away, and the Canada Place cruise terminal is about 30.

On departure day, arriving 15 to 20 minutes before take-off is usually enough. Ramp access rules for drivers are confirmed in your trip details.

Yes. Private jet charter flights to Vancouver arrive nonstop from across North America. Ultra-long-range jets also reach it from Asia and Europe.

  • Pacific Northwest: turboprops reach Boundary Bay from Seattle in about 30 minutes.
  • California and Nevada: light and midsize jets fly nonstop to YVR in about two to three hours.
  • East Coast: super midsize jets cross the continent nonstop in five to six hours.
  • Asia: ultra-long-range jets fly nonstop from Tokyo in about nine hours.

Note:
Prices are standard
one-way estimates based on the hourly rate of the suggested aircraft category. Flights under 1 hour are shown at a 1-hour minimum. Positioning, landing, handling, de-icing, customs costs, and taxes are not included here and are added to your final all-in quote. Whistler helicopter and floatplane transfers are quoted separately.

  • Passports: every passenger needs a valid passport. Non-US citizens should check Canadian entry rules for their nationality.
  • eTA: most visa-exempt visitors who are not US citizens must hold an Electronic Travel Authorization before departure.
  • Advance report: the operator reports the arrival to CBSA 2 to 48 hours before landing.
  • Flying home to the US: YVR's US preclearance serves airlines only, so private flights clear US customs on arrival.

Whistler is about two hours north by road on the Sea to Sky Highway. By helicopter from YVR's South Terminal, the trip is about 40 minutes. Each flight takes up to five passengers. Floatplanes fly from YVR's Fraser River water aerodrome and Coal Harbour downtown to Victoria and coastal lodges.

How long is the helicopter from Vancouver airport to Whistler?

About 40 minutes of flying from YVR's South Terminal, against roughly two hours by road. Each helicopter carries up to five passengers with one small bag each. Ski bags and large luggage usually travel separately by van.

Yes. Arriving from the US, any dog or cat of three months or older needs a rabies vaccination certificate. No quarantine applies on arrival. Other origins follow separate CFIA rules, and hotel pet policies should be confirmed when booking.

  • Airport choice: Boundary Bay suits small aircraft; YVR is needed for big jets and groups over 15.
  • Arrival time: Boundary Bay customs closes at 10 pm, so late flights use YVR.
  • Night departures: heavy jets over 34,000 kg need YVR approval to leave between midnight and 6 am.
  • Season: summer cruise traffic and winter ski weeks raise demand for aircraft.
  • Onward legs: a Whistler helicopter or floatplane is quoted as a separate transfer.
  • Multi-day stays: if the jet waits in Vancouver, crew hotels and parking are added; for stays of four days or more, two one-way flights often cost less.

Hogani Jets prices each Vancouver trip as flight hours plus any positioning, in one US-dollar figure. Helicopter or floatplane links are listed alongside so the full journey is clear.

The West Coast corridor between Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles sees steady charter traffic. Jets that drop cruise passengers or film crews at YVR often fly south empty. When your dates line up, those one-way seats sell well below normal rates.

Ask about Vancouver empty legs by emailing charter@hoganijets.com or calling +1-855-660-0573.

  • Capilano Suspension Bridge: a walkway high above a North Shore river canyon.
  • Grouse Mountain: a gondola ride up for city views, with skiing in winter.

  • Cruise departures: time the landing so bags reach the ship before boarding closes.
  • Film and TV production: crews with camera cases need a larger hold, often a midsize jet or bigger.
  • Whistler ski trips: helicopter bag limits mean skis may go by road separately.

Vancouver is on Pacific Time, and local costs are in Canadian dollars. YVR has no curfew, but its north runway closes from 10 pm to 7 am for noise. Rain is common from November to March, so pack for wet weather in those months.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Turboprops run $1,300 to $2,500 an hour and light jets $2,300 to $3,800. Midsize jets cost $2,800 to $5,500 an hour.

Mostly Vancouver International (YVR), which has 24/7 customs and an 11,500-foot runway. Boundary Bay serves smaller aircraft with 15 people or fewer aboard.

Yes, between 7 am and 10 pm, if no more than 15 people are aboard, including crew. Larger groups or later arrivals clear at YVR.

No. YVR runs 24/7. Jets over 34,000 kg need approval to depart between midnight and 6 am. Empty repositioning flights are refused then.

Two to four weeks ahead for summer cruise and ski holiday dates. Outside peak weeks, flights can often be arranged within a day or two, subject to aircraft availability.

Canada Place is about 15 km from YVR, roughly 30 minutes by car. Allow extra time on embarkation days, when downtown traffic is heavier.

YVR has instrument landing systems, so rain and low cloud rarely stop flights. If a diversion is needed, crews use Abbotsford or Seattle, and ground transport is rearranged.

No. US preclearance at YVR is for airline flights only. Private flights clear US customs at their first US airport of entry.

Driving takes roughly two hours. Flying by helicopter cuts that to about 40 minutes for groups of five or fewer with light bags.

About 30 minutes by turboprop. Boundary Bay is a good choice for small groups arriving in the daytime.

July and August are the driest months, with about six rainy days each. November to March are the wettest.

Yes. YVR's 11,500-foot runway handles every private jet, including the Global 7500, and VIP airliners.
