Orlando, the Orange County seat, has about 334,000 residents and a metro of roughly 2.7 million. It sits at the centre of seven of North America's ten most visited theme parks. The Orange County Convention Center is the country's second-largest. A private jet to Orlando lands within 18 miles of all of them.

Private flights to Orlando land at the airport closest to the park, convention or meeting. Orlando International ranks seventh in the US for passengers, so its terminals stay busy. Four airports near the city handle private aircraft, and each serves a different part of the region.

  • Downtown in minutes: Orlando Executive sits 2.8 miles from the city centre.
  • Theme park access: Kissimmee Gateway is the closest jet airport to Magic Kingdom.
  • Full-size runways: 6,000 feet or more at all four airports.

How does flying private into Orlando compare with an airline flight into MCO?

Orlando International was Florida's busiest airport in 2025, with about 57.7 million passengers. A charter can skip it entirely. Orlando Executive sits 3 miles from downtown. Kissimmee Gateway is also nearer the Disney parks than MCO, which lies 16.6 miles from Magic Kingdom.

Kissimmee Gateway (ISM) is the best airport for a private jet to Disney World. Its runway 15/33 is 6,001 feet, enough for every business jet category. ISM has no customs, though. International arrivals clear at Orlando International (MCO), 16.6 miles from Magic Kingdom.

Is Kissimmee Gateway the closest airport to Disney World for a private jet?

Yes, Kissimmee Gateway (ISM) is the closest jet-capable airport to Walt Disney World, 12.4 straight-line miles from Magic Kingdom. A private jet to Kissimmee uses runway 15/33, 6,001 feet long. The control tower is staffed 0700 to 2200 local. Flights from abroad must clear customs elsewhere first.

Matt's Recommendation

For Disney, land at Kissimmee. For downtown, Winter Park or Universal, Orlando Executive is the shorter drive.

International private flights clear customs in Orlando at Orlando International (MCO) or at Orlando Executive (ORL) by arrangement. An Orlando Executive Airport private jet arrival uses a user-fee customs service needing 24 hours' notice. Kissimmee Gateway has no customs. Every arriving passenger needs a valid passport.

Can a private jet from the Bahamas fly straight to Orlando Executive?

Yes, a Bahamas private jet can fly straight to Orlando Executive (ORL) with customs booked a day ahead. Nassau is 295 nautical miles away, about 1 hour 20 minutes by turboprop. Flights to Kissimmee must first clear at ORL or MCO.

A private flight to Orlando takes under an hour from Miami, and about 2.25 hours from New York. A private jet Miami to Orlando hop covers 168 nautical miles by turboprop. A private jet New York to Orlando trip flies 821 nautical miles from Teterboro. Light jets handle it nonstop.

  • Chicago: a private jet Chicago to Orlando flight from Midway takes about 2 hours 15 minutes.
  • Atlanta: about 1 hour 10 minutes from Peachtree-DeKalb by light jet.
  • Boston: about 2 hours 30 minutes by midsize jet.
  • Los Angeles: about 4 hours 30 minutes nonstop from Van Nuys.

A pet can travel on a private flight to Orlando with the operator's approval, since cabin rules vary. Domestic trips need no federal import paperwork. A dog arriving from abroad must be microchipped and at least six months old, with a CDC import receipt. Share size and breed early.

Flight hours, cabin size and timing set most of the private jet to Orlando cost. A Florida hop suits a turboprop, while Chicago or Boston calls for a midsize jet. School holidays and big conventions tighten supply. Customs at Orlando Executive also needs a day's notice.

  • School breaks: spring break and the winter holidays are peak park weeks.
  • Conventions: large shows at the Convention Center fill ramps and hotels.
  • Golf week: the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in March.
  • One-way trips: the aircraft may have to return empty.

What is the cheapest private jet to Orlando?

For Florida hops, the cheapest private jet to Orlando is a turboprop costing $1,300 to $2,500 per hour. It flies from Miami in under an hour. From Atlanta or Charlotte, a very light jet costs $1,600 to $2,800 per hour. Empty legs into Orlando can reduce prices further.

Orlando empty legs are one-way repositioning flights, priced below a standard charter because the aircraft is moving anyway. Times are set by the original client's trip. They suit flexible families and short business trips.

For current Orlando empty legs, send dates and group size to charter@hoganijets.com or +1-855-660-0573.

Spring break, the winter holidays and summer are the busiest times to fly private to Orlando. The dry season runs November to April, with mild, sunny winters. From May to late October, afternoon thunderstorms are almost daily. Atlantic hurricane season covers June through November.

Is Orlando Executive Airport open 24 hours for private jets?

Orlando Executive (ORL) is listed as open around the clock. Its control tower works 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. Kissimmee Gateway keeps the same tower schedule, though its airfield is also open 24 hours. Arrivals after 10 p.m. are planned with the operator in advance.

Orlando's top resorts sit close to the parks and Grande Lakes, south of the city. Four Seasons Resort Orlando is inside Walt Disney World, and Waldorf Astoria Orlando is an official Disney World hotel. The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott at Grande Lakes share a resort campus nearby.

Orlando is built around theme parks, with Walt Disney World opening in 1971 about 21 miles southwest of downtown. Universal Orlando is the only major park inside city limits. Beyond the parks, Lake Eola anchors the historic downtown. Winter Park, just north, is home to Rollins College.

  • Walt Disney World: four theme parks plus resorts and water parks in Bay Lake.
  • Universal Orlando: theme parks and CityWalk inside Orlando.
  • Kennedy Space Center: about 39 straight-line miles east of Orlando's airports.
  • Bay Hill: home of the Arnold Palmer Invitational each March.
  • Winter Park: tree-lined shopping streets and museums.

  • Family luggage: strollers and car seats need baggage space in smaller jets.
  • Rocket launches: launch dates often slip, so keep the return flexible.
  • Convention freight: display cases may need a larger cabin or separate shipping.
  • Golf trips: club bags fit best in midsize cabins and up.

Orlando uses Eastern Time with daylight saving. Allow extra time on Interstate 4 at peak hours, which makes the closest airport worth choosing. Orlando Executive's customs service needs booking a day ahead. Summer storms usually arrive in the afternoon.

Hogani Jets plans each Orlando private jet charter around the destination on the ground. Disney trips route to Kissimmee, downtown meetings to Orlando Executive and international arrivals through customs first. Founder Matt Hogan has organised over 2,000 charter flights in more than 90 countries.

Every operator's Part 135 certificate, insurance coverage, and safety record is independently reviewed before booking, with ARGUS, Wyvern, or IS-BAO ratings considered where they exist as one part of that review.

  • Airport by address: ORL, MCO, Kissimmee or Sanford, chosen for the drive time.
  • Customs booked: user-fee clearance at ORL arranged a day ahead.
  • Peak-week cover: aircraft held early for school breaks and big conventions.
