A private jet to Monaco costs $2,300 to $3,800 per hour in a light jet. Monaco has no airport, so jets land at Nice Côte d'Azur (LFMN / NCE), about 20 km away. The flight from London takes 1.5 to 1.75 hours. A helicopter then reaches Monaco in about 7 minutes. Nice is open 24 hours, but every movement needs a slot. Stays over four hours need parking approval. Hogani Jets coordinates every charter through licensed Part 135 operators or carriers approved by the applicable aviation authority.

Monaco is the second-smallest country in the world and one of the busiest private aviation markets for its size. The Grand Prix, the Yacht Show and the summer season drive most arrivals. Every one of them lands in France first.

  • Door to door in minutes: land at Nice, walk to the helicopter terminal, and reach Fontvieille shortly after.

Parking and slots at Nice for private jets

Nice is a fully coordinated airport, so every private flight needs a slot through its handler. Business aviation stays longer than four hours need airport approval for parking. The apron holds around 120 business aircraft. During the Grand Prix, jets often drop passengers and reposition elsewhere.

Nice has a dedicated business aviation terminal next to Terminal 2, with its own customs, security and VIP lounges. Signature is among the handlers. A separate helicopter terminal serves the Monaco shuttles, with around fifty return flights a day in season. The operator selects the handler, and Hogani Jets confirms it in your trip details.

Matt's Recommendation

For Monaco, the helicopter is the easy part. The hard part is the Nice parking stand during race week. We book the stand and the helicopter together, the day the client confirms.

Not to Monaco itself, but nonstop to Nice from anywhere in Europe. Larger jets fly nonstop from the US East Coast and the Gulf.

  • Dubai: about 2,590 nautical miles, 5.75 to 6.5 hours nonstop.
  • New York (Teterboro): about 3,460 nautical miles, 7.5 to 8.25 hours nonstop in a heavy jet.
  • Miami: about 4,250 nautical miles, nonstop in long-range heavy jets and larger.

Which private jets fly New York to Nice nonstop?

Teterboro to Nice is about 3,460 nautical miles. The Challenger 650 and Falcon 900LX fly it nonstop. A Praetor 600 can too, but only with a light load and good winds. The Challenger 350 and midsize jets stop to refuel, often in Ireland or the Azores.

  • Passports: every passenger needs a valid passport. Non-US citizens should check French and Schengen entry rules for their nationality.
  • Border: you clear entry at Nice, in France. There are no border checks between France and Monaco.
  • EES: non-EU visitors give fingerprints and a photo on first entry. The Entry/Exit System has been fully live since April 2026.
  • ETIAS: visa-exempt visitors, including US and UK citizens, will need this €20 online approval once it launches, expected in late 2026.
  • Cash: declare €10,000 or more when entering or leaving the EU.

The 2027 Monaco Grand Prix runs from June 4 to 6, as a sprint weekend. It is the busiest week of the year at Nice. Slots, parking and helicopter seats all sell out early.

How to plan a Grand Prix trip to Monaco?

Book the jet, the Nice slot and the helicopter transfer at the same time, ideally months ahead. Expect the aircraft to drop you and reposition, as parking is scarce. Road closures around the circuit make the helicopter the fastest option. A second Riviera airport is rarely a shortcut on race weekend.

Pets arrive through France, so French rules apply. They need a microchip, a rabies vaccination and a veterinary health certificate. France bans the import of Category 1 dogs, such as unregistered pit bull types. Ask about pets when you request your quote, so the operator can approve them in the cabin.

  • Event weeks: the Grand Prix in June and the Yacht Show in September push up demand.
  • Parking at Nice: if no stand is free, the jet repositions, adding flight hours.
  • Daily minimums: 2 billed hours for super midsize and smaller, and 3 hours for heavy and larger jets.
  • UK departures: Air Passenger Duty applies, with the highest rate on heavy jets of 20 tonnes or more.
  • Helicopter transfer: Hogani Jets books it with the flight and shows the cost in your quote.

Every Monaco quote is hourly and shows one all-in price. Quotes are in US dollars, so the euro or sterling cost moves with the exchange rate.

Both are about 30 to 40 minutes from Nice airport by car. For Monaco hotels, the helicopter plus a short car ride is often faster.

  • Prince's Palace: the ruling family's residence on the Rock, with the changing of the guard.
  • Oceanographic Museum: a clifftop marine museum and aquarium founded by Prince Albert I.
  • Port Hercule: the superyacht harbor, and the Grand Prix paddock in June.

  • Yacht charters: time the flight to the boarding port, which may be Monaco, Cannes or Antibes.
  • Casino nights: late departures from Nice need a slot booked in advance.
  • Helicopter weather: strong wind or low cloud can ground the shuttle, so keep a car on standby.

Monaco uses the euro, and French is the official language, with English widely spoken. Dress codes apply in the casino and some restaurants. Summer traffic on the coastal roads can double the drive time from Nice.
