A private jet to Zurich costs $2,300 to $3,800 per hour in a light jet. Private flights land at Zurich Airport (LSZH / ZRH), 9 km north of the city. Every flight needs an airport slot. Flight time is 1.25 to 1.5 hours from London and about 7.5 hours from New York. Zurich has one of Europe's strictest night rules, so late departures must be planned early. St. Moritz is a 25 to 35 minute hop away. Hogani Jets coordinates every charter through licensed Part 135 operators or carriers approved by the applicable aviation authority.

Zurich is Switzerland's banking and business capital, and its main gateway to the eastern Alps. Private traffic peaks in January for Davos and through the ski season. Summer brings lake stays and trips on to St. Moritz.

  • Close to the banks: the airport is 15 to 20 minutes from Paradeplatz by car.
  • Fast to the mountains: St. Moritz is a short hop, and Davos is reachable by helicopter.
  • Same-day business trips: London, Paris and Frankfurt return comfortably within Zurich's operating hours.

Zurich Airport's night rules for private jets

Charter flights at Zurich, including private jet charters, get a latest departure slot of 21:45. Arrival slots run until about 23:00. Federal rules ban departures from midnight to 06:00 and arrivals from midnight to 05:00. Plan to leave Zurich by about 21:30.

Private passengers use Zurich's General Aviation Centre, where Jet Aviation and ExecuJet are among the handlers. Customs and immigration take place in the terminal, and cars can meet the aircraft. The drive to central Zurich takes 15 to 20 minutes outside rush hour. The operator selects the FBO, and Hogani Jets confirms it in your trip details.

Matt's Recommendation

Zurich runs on the clock. Slots are tight, the night rules are strict, and nothing moves late. We book the return slot with the arrival. A long lunch should never cost you the flight home

Yes. Every major European city is within two hours. Larger jets fly nonstop from the US East Coast and the Gulf.

  • Dubai: about 2,580 nautical miles, 5.75 to 6.5 hours nonstop in a super midsize or heavy jet.
  • New York (Teterboro): about 3,410 nautical miles, 7.25 to 8 hours nonstop eastbound.
  • Miami: about 4,230 nautical miles, nonstop in long-range heavy jets and larger.

Which private jets fly New York to Zurich nonstop?

Heavy jets like the Challenger 650 and Falcon 900LX fly Teterboro to Zurich nonstop, about 3,410 nautical miles. The super midsize Praetor 600 also makes it with a typical load. For the westbound return, a heavy or ultra-long-range jet is safer.

  • Passports: every passenger needs a valid passport. Non-US citizens should check Swiss and Schengen entry rules for their nationality.
  • Passport validity: at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area, issued within the last ten years.
  • EES: Zurich Airport joined the Entry/Exit System in November 2025. Non-Schengen visitors give fingerprints and a photo on first entry.
  • ETIAS: visa-exempt visitors, including US and UK citizens, will need this €20 online approval once it launches, expected in late 2026.
  • Customs: Switzerland is outside the EU customs union, so flights from Paris or Amsterdam still clear Swiss customs.
  • Cash: no form is needed, but answer truthfully if customs asks about CHF 10,000 or more.

The World Economic Forum meets in Davos from January 18 to 22, 2027. During that week, Zurich limits private aircraft parking to two hours. Most jets drop passengers and reposition to another airport, then return for the pickup.

Can a private jet fly into St. Moritz?

Yes. Private jets land at Engadin Airport in Samedan, 5 km from St. Moritz. At 5,600 feet, it is Europe's highest airport with instrument approaches. Landings are daylight only, after a mandatory pilot briefing. Weather can close it, so plan a road or rail backup.

Dogs and cats entering Switzerland need a microchip and a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old. Pets from the UK or US also need a veterinary health certificate.

Dogs with docked ears or tails cannot be imported into Switzerland. Let Hogani Jets know when you request a quote, so the operator can approve the pet in the cabin.

  • Davos week: the two-hour parking limit means extra repositioning flights for most jets.
  • Ski season: Saturday changeovers from December to March book out first.
  • Daily minimums: 2 billed hours for super midsize and smaller, and 3 hours for heavy and larger jets.
  • UK departures: Air Passenger Duty applies, with the highest rate on heavy jets of 20 tonnes or more.
  • Late returns: missing the evening slot can mean an overnight crew stay.

Every Zurich quote is hourly and shows one all-in price. Quotes are in US dollars, so the franc, sterling or euro cost moves with the exchange rate.

Both are about 20 minutes from the airport by car. Many ski travelers skip Zurich hotels and continue straight to the mountains.

  • Old Town and the Limmat: the Grossmünster and Fraumünster churches face each other across the river.
  • Bahnhofstrasse: one of the world's most expensive shopping streets, ending at the lake.
  • Kunsthaus Zurich: one of Switzerland's leading art museums.
  • Rhine Falls: Europe's largest plain waterfall, about 40 minutes north by car.

  • Skiing: skis and boot bags need a midsize jet or larger for groups of six or more.
  • Mountain weather: Samedan can close in cloud or strong wind, so plan a road backup.
  • Late dinners: Zurich's curfew means evening departures must leave before the slot window closes.

Zurich uses the Swiss franc, and German is the local language, though English is widely spoken. Winter road transfers to the Alps need snow tyres. Shops close early on Saturdays and most stay closed on Sundays.
